Spirit Doesn’t Use Forms As An Excuse…
What does it mean when we say that Spirit is first? It doesn’t mean what most think it means. For one thing, it doesn’t mean that we forget or dismiss the form that is present. In fact, it may mean that we are more consciously aware of the form that exists and the needs associated with working with the form properly.
As one works in the earth while in a state of separation, we see very little of anything that actually exists. We merely see projections of our own consciousness. That does not mean that our consciousness is lined up with reality. So when one says, “Spirit first,” there needs to be no separation between Spirit and form. As my orientation is, in fact, in Spirit, I become more aware of what is present in form. I don’t develop spiritual blindness. But we do that, don’t we? I can real comfortable in my little psudo-spiritual world. I can convince my capacities that I have had such a Divine experience that I forget all about my supposed “dominion over the earth”. Hmmm, I believe that it was something about stewardship and being my brother’s keeper? No, that can’t be right; that would mean that I haven’t taken any real responsibility for almost the entirety of my life. I better read another Service so that I can become clear on this. Or maybe Spirit is screaming for a little action now. But who can see past their little worlds of limitation to see something much larger – something that involves Divine Dominion over the Earth?
I can become very comfortable in my little cave without thinking that any other place exists besides the place that I have created for myself. Or, I can also create my experience so I believe that I am a victim of circumstance and that nothing I have is good enough. I always “need” more of something or someone. But, at some point, there is little left to do except for taking a little bit of Divine, encompassing, Loving action in my world – or how about in someone else’s world – because that is more a part of your world than you are aware of…
Is it all about a suffering child that lives in another part of the world? Is it all about all of the things that exist within my consciousness? What do I do when I actually put Spirit first? What and who and how does that effect?
Being effective is certainly the key to letting life get in Divine order. I assure you, we don’t know the first thing about it. And there is only something to know as I become action. The thinking gives way to the synchronized serendipitous aspects of the creative process. In other words, constant baby steps are what is needed. Spirit speaks to us and ties us all together in such a simple, complete and absolute way. It’s just that plain and simple. But putting Spirit first is not just about having a great and loving attitude – it’s taking continuous and loving action in my world – in every world!
