As so many different ones embark on spiritual pathways that may lead into discovery of living purpose, it is almost always apparent that one finds themselves with an interest in serving a master. There are belief systems that differentiate themselves while attaching a name and characterization to their Master; or their Lord. Often, upon an internal realization, there becomes a growing interest in providing for the One that is seated in one’s consciousness as the Lord!
Gifts through many forms of worship are often given in response to an internal believe that all life was, in fact, given to that person by, and through, their Lord. This relationship seems to further exemplify an order of beholding, or owing, the Lord. There is logic to this premise of thinking, for many reasons.
From a sociological standpoint, common decency suggests that one pays back to the debt of being given something. But, from a more self-serving standpoint, logic would also dictate giving to a source in life that seemingly holds one’s welfare at hand. In these relationships, we are simply honoring ourselves through this outworking and form of support.
If we take this picture of receiving and giving forward a step further, we can also see the logic, intelligence and, perhaps, beauty of greeting all gifts that are offered to us as initiating a very important relationship to build upon.
If we begin to look at everything that comes our way as a gift that is actually an investment in us, we begin to desire providing the source of the gift, or investment, with a dividend. It is no different than the planting of a garden whereby a harvest, eventually, is the result.
I appreciate it when I see a part in a movie where a wrapped up gift is given to someone, and they are so moved by the act of the giving that they don’t care what is inside of the wrapping paper. To truly celebrate the act behind the gift, as to let that act continue in one’s experience, there is an immediate response with the interest of giving it back. Dividends of Love are the foundational aspects of abundance. The spirit of this act alone may well be a key to what is referred to as the restoration!
We can begin to stop measuring all things and just delight in the continuous privilege of the exchange as it builds in each one’s experience…
Do you remember the story of the old wash woman that gave the Lord a very small amount of money, but it was her entire fortune? This story depicts well, the value of just appreciating and not measuring; because each gift, no matter what it is, is a complete gift in and of itself. Each gift completely shines the spirit of giving in its own way. We can build on that spirit of giving.
Receive as a child and give back through the Spirit of the enlightened child. Remember, the child just wants to keep giving – never measuring – just giving in the Spirit!
Let us work well with these gifts as we continually give them back; while fostering, together, abundance in each of our worlds.
